Why is veiling appropriate for women, but not men?

Saint Paul, in his First Letter to the Corinthians (11:4–5), writes: “Every man praying or prophesying with his head covered, disgraces his head. But every woman praying or prophesying with her head uncovered disgraces her head.”

Why would Saint Paul say this? Why is veiling appropriate for women, but not men? Isn’t that sexist?

The most important person on earth is a mother!

On this Mother's Day, let us be thankful to God for making a part of humanity female, with their own, special gifts. All good is from God, all of it returns to God. Motherhood is a beautiful gift from God, to be handled with utmost care in this life, so that, grace-filled and fruitful, it can be handed back to God gloriously augmented.
